Senior Accountant – Northwest Toronto
Reporting to the CFO, the Accountant is responsible for ensuring that the Accounting / Finance department delivers it’s role as a supplier of true and reliable financial and management information for the keeper of local corporate records and compliance reporting. All financial information must meet legal, fiscal and audit obligations on a local and global scale.
Responsible for preparing and submitting all legal, fiscal, government and regulatory and audit documents as required by law. Keeps local books and records organized
Prepares and consolidates management, tax, and financial accounts/statements and is accountable for the accuracy of these reports.
Ensures that the monthly and ad-hoc Financial reports are issued on time.
Controls monthly and other periodic management and/or financial processes ( sales, revenue, P&L, cash, debtors)
Ensures compliance with the Company’s accounting policies and procedures.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting policies and procedures.
Assists in coordinating year-end audits, monthly reports, analysis and/or prepare tax schedules and returns as required.
Consolidates results and reconciles inter-company and inter-regional accounts as required for monthly reporting
Responsible for day to day accounting activities including A/P, A/R, cash, billings and collections and payroll.
Oversees the duties of a Junior Accountant.
Profile
Designated Accountant – CA, CMA or CGA with 4 or 5+ years experience (willing to accept candidates well on their way to an accounting designation if they have solid work experience)
Excellent knowledge of all accounting functional areas and reporting
Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, analysis, people management and organizational skills
Fully proficient with PCs, financial spreadsheet and accounting software, especially QuickBooks
Prior experience working in similar organizations or in similar capacity

Compensation: Base salary $80-90k base plus 10% variable bonus and 4 weeks vacation.
